Plea to increase reservation percentage for STs

Mysore/Mysuru: Members of Halumatha Mahasabha have urged the State Government to increase reservation percentage of Scheduled Tribes (STs) to 9 percent and include Kuruba community in the list of Scheduled Tribes.

Addressing a press meet at Patrakartara Bhavana here recently, State President of Hindulida Vargagala Jagruthi Vedike K.S. Shivaramu demanded the State Government to increase reservation percentage for ST community and inclusion of Kuruba community in ST list.

He also urged the Government to table and pass the Caste Census report during the Assembly session which had been conducted by the earlier Government after spending a whopping Rs. 175 crore.

District President of Halumatha Mahasabha Vijaykumar, Vice-President Samruddhi Suresh, General Secretary Nagesh Gowda, Legal Advisor Ramakrishna and other members were present at the press meet.
