RBI Currency Paper Mill sponsors Divya Jyothi’s Hostel-cum-Training Centre

Mysore/Mysuru: Bank Note Paper Mill India Pvt. Ltd., Mysuru (RBI Currency Paper Mill), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), had sponsored Rs. 50 lakh to Divya Jyothi Charitable Trust, Mysuru for the construction of the Hostel-cum-Training Centre for the Visually Challenged at its new campus in No. 2, 12th Cross, 8th Main, III Stage, Dattagalli.

 The new building has now been completed with 4 floors with dormitories for visually challenged students, dining hall, computer lab, music room, VC room, Warden rooms, etc.  

The ground floor and second floor of the new building sponsored by the Company was inaugurated by Tripti Patra Ghosh, Chairperson, Bank Note Paper Mill and by K.G. Viswanathan, Managing Director, Bank Note Paper Mill on  Nov.23. Also present were Dharani Kumara, General Manager, BNPM and Ananta Hegde, General Manager, BNPM along with M.A. Shivaprakash, Founder-cum-Managing Trustee and other Trustees from Divya Jyothi Charitable Trust, Mysuru.

The Trust has been working for people with disabilities in general and visually impaired in particular since 2010. Divya Jyothi provides the following facilities: Computer training, Spoken English classes, Braille Library, Braille transcription and printing centre, Braille teaching classes, Cultural events, Placement services, Free pick & drop service, Hostel with food service.

Presently, the hostel has 35 visually challenged girl students from various backgrounds. Earlier, the Trust was running the training centre and hostel in two rented premises separate by about 16 kms in Mysuru. 

Speaking on the occasion, Tripti Patra Ghosh expressed her happiness to be associated with this noble project of educating the visually challenged students, especially girl students as they would help the society get educated in the long run. She also appreciated the initiative of the Managing Trustee to provide facility for these students.
