Mysuru: Lashing out at the Siddharamaiah Government for failing to honour the UPSC Civil Services rank holders at the ‘Kotta Maatu Ditta Sadhane’ convention in Mysuru on Saturday, former MP A.H. Vishwanath claimed that none of the bureaucrats at Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi, where the country’s top most ranker in the Civil Services exam K.R. Nandini from Kolar was working as an Engineer, had bothered to congratulate her for her great achievement.

Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Vishwanath, referring to Siddharamaiah Government’s convention at Mysuru on Saturday, marking four years of power in the State, said what the CM had told at the convention was only 25 percent true and the rest 75 percent was false.

Accusing Siddharamaiah of fooling Dalits, the former MP said that he wanted to know what was the 165 pre-election promises made and the 155 promises fulfilled by the Congress Government after coming to power, as claimed by the CM.

Maintaining that he was not invited for Saturday’s convention under the pretext that he was not a sitting Legislator or MP, Vishwanath wondered whether Sunil Bose, son of PWD Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa and Dr. Yathindra, son of CM Siddharamaiah, who were found seated in the front rows of the dais, were elected representatives.

Taking exception to the absence of AICC President Sonia Gandhi, Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and other senior Congress leaders, Vishwanath claimed that Siddharamaiah, who has been continuously ignoring senior leaders, had hijacked the Congress. He further said that no Government which has held a convention to trumpet it’s performance, had come to power again.

Reiterating that Siddharamaiah had said only 25 percent truth while addressing the Saturday Convention, he said it was important to check whether the schemes announced by the Government reached all the targeted beneficiaries.

Replying to a question on reports of his joining the JD(s), the former MP expressed his dilemma by singing a song from one of Dr. Rajkumar’s films.

Maintaining that he had not yet decided on quitting the Congress, Vishwanath claimed that former Congress party in-charge of Karnataka Digvijay Singh had planned to expel him from the party. But the change in the State party in-charge, had delayed his expulsion, he said.

Denouncing the efforts to weaken the Lokayukta, Vishwanath said that the constitution of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is costing the State Rs.1,000 crore a year and this was a heavy burden on the State exchequer.
