Mysore/Mysuru: While most organisations, associations, individuals and others are taking care of COVID-affected patients in home isolations, senior citizens and the homeless, a few individuals and organisations are providing basic necessities such as face shields, face masks and sanitisers to food delivery boys and also feeding stray animals across the city.
BJP leader and MUDA Member K. Madesh, on Thursday, distributed face masks and shields and sanitisers to food delivery boys at V.V. Mohalla, Jayalakshmipuram and Gokulam.
Madesh said that these food delivery boys, who not only deliver food to us, also deliver food to COVID patients who are in home isolation, risking their lives.
“They have to be very careful and maintain hygiene. Most of them wear worn out masks and do not carry sanitiser with them. If they contract the virus, they are sure to spread the same among others. To prevent this, I have distributed face shields and masks and sanitisers to them,” he said and added that the companies in which these delivery boys work should provide these basic things in the interest of their employees.
Maa Foundation, led by its President Anitha, Secretary Prashanthi and others, considering the difficulties of the homeless in city, distributed food packets and water bottles to them near K.R. Hospital.
City’s KMPK Trust, for their love for animals, have begun feeding stray dogs in city. The Trust volunteers carrying biscuits, milk, bun and rice for dogs and bananas for monkeys went around the city feeding these animals. On Thursday and Friday, the volunteers led by MLA L. Nagendra and Trust President Vikram Iyengar, fed stray dogs at Dasara Exhibition and Kukkarahalli Lake premises.
