Mysore/Mysuru: Corporate companies, clubs and associations, which have been donating various necessary items including medical equipment, to help the District Administration and the civic body in their fight to keep COVID-19 at bay, have continued with their donation and service to the needy.

Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Central has completed the following projects taken up to serve the needy during the pandemic crisis: Three families have been provided with groceries for a month; 55 Pourakarmikas were provided breakfast everyday for 14 days of lockdown; 100 face shields distributed to Police personnel at check-posts; 200 bottles of cough syrup given to District Hospital for COVD patients; Dr. Rachana Nagesh conducted online meditation programmes via Zoom app for various groups everyday for 14 days impacting 200 lives. All the projects were taken up under the leadership of Sandhya Dinesh, Club President (2021-22).

Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) distributed medical kits for COVID infected Advocates who are under home isolation recently. KEA Chairman Hemanth Kumar Gowda said that despite the lockdown, the Courts are functioning with certain restrictions while also maintaining SOPs, in a bid to render justice to the people. 

Noting that the legal fraternity is responsive to justice seekers, he said that the KEA is voluntarily donating the medical kits taking into account the service of Advocates. He further said that each kit will have a unitary set of medicines and face masks. 

Bacardi India Pvt. Ltd. has donated five Oxygen Concentrators worth Rs. 4.5 lakh which was handed over by Senior Executive (Plant Operation) Satish. 

Kaynes Technology India Pvt. Ltd. donated 100 Oxygen Regulators with pipes worth Rs. 3 lakh. The equipment was handed over by Kaynes Technology CEO Jayaram P. Sampath and Marketing Manager N. Jayaram. 

Settymec Engineers (P) Ltd. has donated two Oxygen Concentrators worth Rs. 1.80 lakh which was handed over by Managing Director Smriti Manoj. 

Lunars Export Pvt. Ltd. donated 4,000 medical kits worth Rs. 10 lakh and the same was given away by company’s Managing Director Bastian Joseph. All the items were received by MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag and Additional Commissioner N.M. Shashikumar yesterday.

Mysuru Literary Forum Charitable Trust has donated 15 bed-side table with cupboard worth about Rs. 50,000 to Tulsidas Hospital yesterday. It was received by MUDA Chairman and Bed Management Task Force head H.V. Rajeev. Trust Chairperson Shubha Sanjay Urs, members Padma, Meenakshi and Varsha were present. The Trust has also donated refrigerators and wall clocks to District Hospital and has distributed breakfast to Pourakarmikas.

Rotary West Mysore has donated N-95 face masks, face shields and sanitisers to journalists. The kits were donated to Mysuru District Journalists Association on Thyagaraja Road  on Wednesday. Rotary West President Dr. Raghavendra Prasad said that the Club thought it fit to distribute safety kits to journalists who work round-the-clock and are always exposed to health risks while on field work.
