Theft at Indian Medical Association Office: Association President, Secretary chase and nab one of the burglars

June 4, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: The President and Secretary of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Mysuru Branch, have nabbed one of the two burglars, who had committed theft at the Association Office yesterday and have handed over the burglar to the Police.

IMA President Dr. Anand Ravi and Secretary Dr. Chandraban Singh are the ones, who gave a chase and caught one of the two burglars in one of the crossroads of Mandi Mohalla.

Following lockdown, the IMA Office on Sayyaji Rao Road was locked and at about 3.45 pm yesterday, Dr. Anand Ravi was parking his car near the IMA Office, when he saw two youths carrying away audio visual equipment from the Office.

Dr. Anand, who immediately got down from his car, approached the youths, who began to run away with the stolen equipment. He (Dr. Anand) immediately called Dr. Chandraban Singh over the phone and asked him to come to the spot immediately. He then began to follow one of the youths.

The youth, who saw Dr. Anand following him, began to run inside crossroads to avoid being followed, but Dr. Chandraban Singh, who reached the spot, joined Dr. Anand and cornered the youth in one of the crossroads near Mandi Police Station and caught him.

Dr. Anand Ravi said that last week, miscreants had broken the lock of the IMA Office and had made away with 100 chairs, tables and UPS batteries.  A complaint was lodged at Mandi Police Station in this regard, he added.

Though a new lock was put, burglars had again broke the lock and were stealing the remaining items from the IMA Office, following which we were able to chase one of the burglars and catch him, Dr. Anand added.
