Mysore/Mysuru: Galav Gowda, a third year law student of Mysuru, has brought out a book ‘Mahar to Maharaj’, a chronology of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Father of Indian Constitution.
He has done a thorough research before coming with a bi-lingual 100-page book, capturing the life of Dr. Ambedkar starting from his birth till Mahaparinirvan Diwas (Day of Death).
The book has been divided into 32 chapters each in Kannada and English version. The book has mentioned about his birth, family, childhood, school, college, post-graduation and placements, financial help, total degrees, newspapers and periodicals, political party, Constitution, Reserve Bank of India, works and contribution, portfolios, daily routine, library, residences, professions, teachers and inspiration, books and articles, hobbies, talents, marital life, struggle, Buddhism, health and Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
The book opens with his inspirational messages, “I can only show you the right path for justice” and “They cannot make history, who forget history”. The book mainly showcases Babasaheb’s works and contribution to India and the countrymen.
It contains certain facts and stories of Babasaheb which are not known to people. Rare pictures of Babasaheb’s parents have been published. Besides, the picture of young Ambedkar receiving Doctorate degree from Columbia University has been used.
The book reveals about Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar, the last king of Mysore Kingdom, donating five acres of land to Ambedkar during his visit to Mysore in 1954. The land is used as training centre for Buddhist missionaries. Rare pictures of the Constitution Committee meeting, taking oath as Union Law Minister and with his close friends have been reproduced. The book reveals that Dr. Ambedkar was well-versed in nine languages — Sanskrit, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarathi, English, Paali, French, German and Persian.
