Rider killed as unidentified vehicle hits bike

Nanjangud: A bike rider was killed, while pillion rider suffered serious injuries when an unidentified vehicle rammed into the bike they were riding near Thandavapura in the taluk yesterday night.

The deceased is Harshavardhan (40), son of former Dharmadarshi of Srikanteshwara Temple late Kalappa and a resident of Chamalapura Road in the town.

Harshavardhan, along with his friend Mahesh, was proceeding on their bike towards Nanjangud from Mysuru and when they neared Thandavapura, an unidentified vehicle rammed into the bike from behind and sped away resulting in Harshavardhan and Mahesh sustaining serious injuries.

Though both the injured were being shifted to a hospital, Harshavardhan is said to have succumbed to injuries, while Mahesh has been admitted to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru.

Nanjangud Traffic Police have registered a case.
