Kuniyonu Baara… Sanchalana Children’s Theatre & Folk Art Fest at G.B. Sargur

Mysore/Mysuru: City-based Sanchalana Mysore, in association with Arka Dhama, Shravanashrama, Bhoomideepa and Sri Kashi Vishwanatha Temple Trust, has organised ‘Sanchalana Children’s Theatre and Folk Art Festival — Kuniyonu Baara…’ at Sri Kashi Vishwanatha Temple premises in G.B. Sargur, Bogadi-Gaddige Road, H.D. Kote, from Nov. 22 to 26. The Festival features folk dance, theatre songs, folk songs and Kannada songs at 6 pm everyday.

Nov. 22

District Minister S.T. Somashekar will inaugurate the Fest at 6.30 pm today (Nov. 22). H.D. Kote MLA Anil Chikkamadu will preside. Theatre Director C. Basavalingaiah will light the lamp. Chamarajanagar MP V. Sreenivasa Prasad, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, Karnataka Bal Vikas Academy-Dharwad Chairman Iranna Jadi, G.B. Sargur Gram Panchayat President Mamatha Ramegowda, Srinivasa Arka of Arka Dhama, K.R. Nagar MLA S.R. Mahesh, Chamaraja MLA L. Nagendra and former MP R. Dhruvanarayan will be chief guests.

Prior to the inauguration, a procession of folk art troupes will be taken out from G.B. Sargur Government High School to Sri Kashi Vishwanatha Temple, which will be flagged off by Karnataka Janapada Academy Chairperson Padma Shri B. Manjamma Jogati and Academy Registrar N. Namratha at 6 pm.

Nov. 23

Karthika Maasada Jyoti: Sri Sambasadashiva Swamiji of Maadalli Mutt Ukkina Kante will inaugurate. Sri Somanatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt will preside. Talk on ‘Art and Culture’ by NSS Divisional Executive Member Pradyumna. Rangayana Mysuru Director Addanda C. Cariappa, Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director H. Channappa, industrialist Ravikumar, former MLC D. Madegowda, Religious Endowment Department Tahsildar C.J. Krishna and National Award winner Ambigarahalli Sannaswamy Gowda will be the chief guests.

Kannada Kalpavruksha Award Presentation Ceremony – Kannada Rajyotsava programme by Chamundeshwari Masons Association, G.B. Sargur: District Kannada Sahitya Parishat former President Prof. N. Girigowda will preside. Medical writer Dr. S.P. Yoganna will receive the award from scholar Dr. H.T. Krishnegowda. North Zone Asst. Director M.C. Prashanth, writers D.M. Krishnamurthy, Bannur Raju and Javaregowda will be the chief guests.

Mysuru District Amateur Theatre Artistes Forum Secretary Kumaraswamy, Prasad Kundoor of Niranthara Foundation-Mysuru, television actor Prabhuraj and Vaadi, Government Teachers Training Institute-Mysuru Lecturer S. Swamy, JD-S Chamundeshwari Constituency President Beerihundi Basavanna will be the chief guests.

Folk play ‘Punyakoti’ by Baa Srishti — Students of Sri Nanjunda Shivayogeeshwara Vidyasamste, Gavadagere village, Hunsur taluk [Asst. Nov. 26

Valedictory: Former MLA Chikkanna will preside. Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage Deputy Director Nirmala Mathapati, Sargur BEO Chandrakanth, G.B. Sargur Government Higher Primary School Head Mistress Jayamma, G.B. Sargur Government High School Head Master Mallesh, JD-S leader K. Krishnanayaka and film actors Bala Rajwadi and Chandraprabha will be the chief guests.
