Bengaluru: K.N.   Yashwanth Kumar, DySP, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Cyber Crime Division, Bengaluru, has bagged the DSCI India Cyber Cop of the Year. The award was presented at the DSCI Excellence Awards – 2021 function held in New Delhi on Thursday.

The Police officer had conducted a thorough investigation by using digital forensic tools and techniques to correlate the evidence which led to the arrest of an accused, who was circulating child porn on social media platforms.

DySP Yashwanth was successful in seizing child porn materials from the accused and charged the accused under Section 67 B of the Information Technology Act 2000.

The award was presented by Ajay Sawhney, Secretary to the Government of India – Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
