An initative of ‘Arivu’
Mysuru: Marking the 527th Jayanti of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda, Arivu Samsthe had organised a programme in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple here yesterday to present Kempegowda Seva Bhishma awards to 10 achievers in various fields.
The awards were presented to Dr. P.M. Shivanna (Medicine); Omkarappa (Police); D.T. Prakash (Co-operation); Belagola Subramanya (Farmer’s Movement); M.K. Premkumar (Social Activist); Giridhar (Religious Service); Dr. P. Thomas (Social Work), R. Madhusudan (Journalism); Kumargowda (Social Movement) and Anand (Politics).
Presenting the awards, social activist K. Raghuram said that the Government organising the celebration of Kempegowda Jayanti was a fitting tribute to the great architect of Bengaluru. He sought the installation of a statue of the leader in city.
Sri Ilai Alwar Swamiji of Melukote Vangipura Mutt graced the occasion. Former MLC D. Madegowda presided. BJP City President Dr. B.H. Manjunath, Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda, JD(S) City President Basavaraj, BJP leader B.S. Ashok, Arivu Samsthe President Srikanth Kashyap and others were present.
