Mysore/Mysuru: A bike rider was killed while a scooterist sustained serious injuries following a collision between the two vehicles on Adichunchanagiri Road in Kuvempunagar on May 20 night.

The deceased has been identified as B. Pavan (21), a resident of Kuvempunagar 2nd Stage while the seriously injured scooterist is 52-year-old Somashekar, a resident of Kuvempunagar ‘K’ Block in city. He is undergoing treatment in an ICU at a private hospital in city.

On May 20 at about 9.15 pm, Somashekar, was proceeding on Adichunchanagiri Road on his Suzuki Access scooter (KA-09-EW-2778) and Pavan too was proceeding on the same road towards Udayaravi Road on his TVS Apache bike (KA-12-R-2093).

While proceeding on the road, Somashekar reportedly took a sudden right turn near Kaginele Vidya Samsthe, resulting in Pavan, who was coming from behind ramming into the scooter and both the rider fell from their vehicles and were seriously injured.

Though both were rushed to a private hospital, Pavan succumbed to injuries at about 11.10 pm, while Somashekar is being treated in an ICU.
