Yesterday morning, Choma along with one Siddappa of the village had been to Maramma Temple on the bike and were returning, when the wild elephant attacked them on the main road near Konanakatte. Siddappa, who was riding pillion, jumped from the bike and managed to escape with minor injuries. The protest was led by former MLC Arun Machaiah and Raitha Sangha members.

Meanwhile, villagers said that the residents of the village, who are now living in a sense of fear following the elephant attack, are even afraid to go to their fields for work.
