Mysore/Mysuru: Two persons were killed while three others sustained injuries when two cars collided head-on near Hosalu Maramma Temple on Hunsur Road yesterday afternoon.

The deceased have been identified as Mohan (60) and his son-in-law Vinod Kumar, residents of Bylakuppe in Periyapatna taluk. The injured have been shifted to K.R. Hospital in city.

Mohan and Vinod, along with their relatives, were proceeding from Mysuru towards Hunsur in their Maruti Alto car, when a Toyota Innova vehicle, which came from the opposite direction, collided head-on with the Maruti Alto car near Hosalu Maramma Temple Arch at about 1.15 pm killing Mohan and Vinod on the spot and injuring three others.

Bilikere Inspector Chikkaswamy and staff, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the two bodies to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted and the bodies were handed over to the family members.

Police, who have seized both the vehicles, are investigating.
