Mysore/Mysuru: A meditation hall constructed for the reformation of prisoners in Mysuru Central Prison has been renovated and services have been restarted by Brahma Kumaris after three years due to Covid.

MLA L. Nagendra inaugurated the programme recently by lighting the lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, Nagendra said that this is a special service being rendered by Brahma Kumaris and hoped that prisoners will be reformed to lead a normal life.

Divyashree, Chief Superintendent of Mysuru Central Prison, said that she was impressed by the transformation seen in some of the prisoners attending meditation classes regularly.

“Many of them are today leading a pious life despite being in prison,” she said and expressed her gratitude to Brahma Kumaris for their selfless service.

BK Lakshmiji, Chief Coordinator of Brahma Kumaris, Mysuru Sub Zone, thanked Lions Club and ‘Vikasana’ for their unstinted support in constructing the meditation hall 22 years back and to Prison authorities for providing space inside the jail.

Prisoners were given prasadam after the programme.

Dr. Santosh, Ranganathji, Sharadaji, Gauriji, Veeram Singh, Satheesh, Atmananda, Mani, Umesh, Jagadeesh and others attended the event.
