Bylakuppe: The 62nd Anniversary of the Tibetan Democracy Day was celebrated here at His Holiness Dalai Lama Palace at Bylakuppe.
Ven. Geshe Tashi Tsering, the Chief of Sera Me Monastery, was the chief guest on this occasion who called all the Tibetan to strengthen the hands of Dalai Lama in order to reach the goal of getting freedom to Tibet.
B.V. Javaregowda, the President of Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society (ITFS), who was the guest of honour on the occasion, said that, an atmosphere should come to the Tibetans to celebrate their Democracy Day at Lhasa, the Capital of Tibet.
He also appealed to the people of Republic of Chaina to respect the human rights of the Tibetans at least by granting an autonomous status to the Tibet as proposed by Dalai Lama.
Chime Dorje, the Settlement Officer, read out the statement issued by the Tibetan Govern-ment in Exile. Chombel, the Member of Parliament of Tibetan Government in Exile, readout the statement issued by the Tibetan Parliament in Exile.
Several cultural programmes were organised on this occasion and Youth Empowerment Award of 2022 was given to Dawa Dolma by the chief guest on this occasion.
Tenzin Lodoe, the President of the Tibetan Retired Army Officers Association, proposed a vote of thanks. Earlier, the programme was inaugurated by the chief guest by lighting the lamp and offering scarf.
