Woman’s body found floating in Kukkarahalli Lake

Mysore/Mysuru: A body of a woman was found floating in Kukkarahalli Lake here this morning by walkers and joggers, who informed about it to the jurisdictional Jayalakshmipuram Police Station. Jayalakshmipuram Inspector Poonacha and staff, who rushed to the spot, got the body fished out from the lake, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem.

The deceased has been identified as Pushpa (55), wife of retired Karnataka Bank employee Shivaram and a resident of Ramabai Nagar in city.

It is learnt that Pushpa was suffering from depression and ended her life by jumping into the Lake last night.

Jayalakshmipuram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
