Winners of Maj. Dhyan Chand Memorial District-level Hockey Tournament

Following are the winners of Maj. Dhyan Chand Memorial District-level Boys and Girls Hockey Tournament-2022, organised by the National Sports Day Celebration Committee, Mysuru, at Sports Pavilion grounds in city recently:

Primary Boys’ category: Demonstration Multipurpose School (DMS) Primary Boys Team A – first prize; DMS Primary Boys Team B – second.

High School Boys: DMS High School Boys Team A – first; DMS High School Boys Team B – second.

College Girls: Teresian Degree College – first; Teresian PU College – second and JSS First Grade College – third.

College Boys: PG Sports Council – first; De Paul College – second and Mysore Institute of Commerce and Arts (MICA) – third.

National Sports Day Celebration Committee President Ln. N. Krishnegowda presided over the inaugural programme. Asia Cup medal winner Sheshe Gowda was the chief guest. University of Mysore (UoM) Physical Education Department Director Dr. P. Krishnaiah, Professor C. Venkatesh, Committee Vice-Presidents Raghavendra and N.B. Aradhya and senior Hockey player Suresh were present.

Sports Authority of India (SAI) retired Coach Om Prakash was felicitated at the valedictory programme.

 Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Vidyashankar (now VTU VC) was the chief guest. National Hockey Player P.C. Nisha was the guest of honour. Committee President Ln. N. Krishnegowda and other Committee Office-bearers were present on the occasion.
