Sir,
I travelled by the Shatabdi train on Oct. 6 from Mysuru to Bengaluru. On arrival at Bengaluru Station, I was surprised to see passengers travelling to Chennai trying to board the train even before passengers from Mysuru could disembark. There was chaos which could have been easily avoided.
Here are a few suggestions to the Railways:
1. The departure of the train from Bengaluru should depend upon the traffic and not by timing alone. This could be monitored on CCTV cameras by the controller. Moreso when there is an increase in traffic.
2. The door to the train compartment is spring operated. Passengers find it difficult to keep it open as it requires fair amount of strength. Especially, for seniors and families with children. This slows down disembarking of passengers at the Bengaluru Station. Doors should be electronically operated.
3. There are two doors for every bogey. One should be for entry and the other for exit. This will regulate the entry and exit of passengers at the destination stations.
4. Drinking water bottles are distributed to all passengers whether or not one requires. Why not give only to those who ask for it. Or serve in water cups by the attendant like in airplanes? By so doing, one can reduce close to five thousand plastic bottles entering the ecosystem on every trip of Shatabdi train every day.
5. My co-passenger in the train was eating peanuts and dropping the shell on to the floor. I realised that there was no other place to throw. An inexpensive paper bag provided to every seat can reduce trash from being thrown and improve cleanliness.
6. If there are more Shatabdi kind of trains, operate between Bengaluru and Mysuru. It will considerably reduce vehicular traffic on roads thereby reducing atmospheric pollution.
There are simple solutions to many problems if only the authorities continuously pay attention to improving system efficiency. Or encourage passengers to give a feedback for improvement.

Yes, I agree to all the feedback suggestions mentioned above. Even though KSR Bengaluru being the main railway station, this Shatabdi stops there for only for 5 minutes, where there is a huge interchange of passengers coming from Mysuru ; going to Chennai and vice versa. This should be brought to the view of the concerned SWR department of Bengaluru division ASAP.
SIR OFF LATE SWR HEADS ARE SITTING AT HUBBALLI AND THEY R NOT BOTHERED TO HEAR THE PRACTICAL PROBLEMS OF MYSORE SECTION.
ON 17TH OCTOBER I TRAVELLED FROM MYSORE TO BANGALORE BY KCG EXPRESS.
THE YRAIN STOPPED AT CHANNAPATNA FOR LONG THEN FROM HEJJALA IT WAS SO WORST. BANGALORE DRM OR COBYROL ROOM STAFF MAY BE SLEEPING THE TEAIN STOOPED AT ALL STATIONS BETWEEN HEJJALA AND BANGALORE GINALLY REACHED BANGALORE AT 0625 PM.
WORST ADMINISTRATION BY BANGALORE DIVISION.
Yes I agree with Ashvini’s suggestion.
To teach discipline to us is like to teach the monkeys the meditation. Even our 33 crores Gods have failed . Even the educated just slip into the toilet and smoke there making it a hell. I have noticed so many damn things what commitee do.
No need to worry about empty water bottles as there Ian enormous demand for pet bottles. These bottles are scrapped and used to make fabrics.
Not surprised about the behaviour of these people. Indians are ill-disciplined wherever they go.
Too many people in tis third world country which has overtaken China in population growth which causes problems like this.
Sir, At Bangaloe City Station
Train should be brought on Plateform having both side of Train.one side Exit should be used for Disembarking and another side of plateform to Board train for passenger travelling from BLR to Chennai.
Agree with all suggestions reported earlier.
Trains are getting upgraded and people using the services also to co-operate is my first view.
People need not be served with a free water bottle. Those who paid for food let them be given. A water filter may be kept can be used by passenger if they need.
Immediately with draw the free water bottle service will solve the problem.
People travelling in shatapti definitely cam buy us my personal view.
More trains us the need of the hour from Mysore – Bangalore. Mysore – Trichy Tanjore.
Bangalore – Trichy via Namakkal more trains like intercity to introduce saves time and money Blore to Trichy train unnecessary to touch erode 100 km or so extra and 2 hr 30 mts waste of time and Salem- Namakkal- Trichy line is not used at all. Pl. Give a serious thought to this important issues.
Thanks and regards,
G Sarabagopalan.
Bangalore
Good points all. Also the Chn-Blr-mys Shatabdi has no stops in East Banagalore – be it Whitefield/KR Puram/Byappanahalli – This is one thing that is much needed as sizeable number of passengers travel back towards these areas – Imagine the wastage & the reduction in road traffic congestion as well
I totally agree with her views , I am a frequent traveller between BGL to chennai ,I noticed people talk loudly in the phone or listen to you tube throughout the journey they are mostly between 45 and above which disturbs others and it is happening every time
I totally endorse the views Ashvini Ranjan.
I travelled from Bangalore to Mysore and Mysore and Bangalore with my wife and my niece a fortnight back.
It was utter chaos while getting out of the bogey at Bangalore station as passengers bound for Chenni were so rude in spite of our request they were forcefully entering the bogey stopping us from getting down. There was a TC present on the platform and he was behaving as unconcerned, which was very surprising! We are all senior citizens and think of our plight. There should be some system in place to help the travelling public so that people can enjoy their travel in Train.
There should be emergency medicines in all the compartments. The first aid kit should have medicines that can handle low blood sugar, chest pain, stomach upset etc. As a primer train service safety should also be looked into.
I agree with Mr.Kumar’s comments. Unless people change, no amount of control or rules and regulations will improve the situation.
Only God must help us.

@Sarabagopalan
ou must be a Tamilian living in Bengaluru who never learned Kannada. It is Shatabdi not Shatapti, as your Tamil language misses some alphabets.
You Tamils have swamped Bengaluru and now are swamping Mysuru. Learn Kannada or get out.
As for ‘@Shanthakumar , who brandishes his title, but cannot string a few words together- the sign of education gained through other means except merit, should realise that the Karnataka government has let in over decades, too many Tamilians who are by nature rude and undisciplined: -look at Singapore where the Tamilians are in large numbers, but the Chinese ruled government have put them in a disciplined atmosphere by force.
Indians in general are breeding like rats at an alarming rate, and this is an example of that growing malaise- more population and resources like this express provided is not growing to be enough. This in mathematics called NP hard problem, more sources are swallowed up by more demands in an essence.
