Mysore/Mysuru: Felicitation to dignitaries by Hazarath Tipu Sultan Shaheed Welfare and Urus Committee marked Eid Meelad-un-Nabi celebration, organised by Central Meelad Committee at a function organised at Meelad Park on Ashoka Road here recently.
The celebrations began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Hafiz Mohamed Muzammil and lectures on life and teachings of Prophet Mohammed were held.
Sir khazi of Mysuru Hazarath Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff presided. MLA Tanveer Sait, who is the President of Central Meelad Committee was present.
Hazrath Moulana Syed Shahabuddin Nadvi, Hon. Secretary of the Board of Islamic Education Karnataka Moulana Riaz Ahmed, Moulana Mufti Mohamed Sulthan Qasmi, Moulana Dr. Mohamed Haziq Nadvi delivered lectures on the life and teachings of Prophet Mohammed.
After the function, tableaux prepared by various Meelad Committees and Masjids were taken in a procession from Meelad Park which passed through Meena Bazar, Sawday Road, Savoy Chowk and culminated at Dr. Zakir Hussain Circle (Mission Hospital Circle). Namaz-e-Isha was held at 10 pm in Masjid-e-Azam on Ashoka Road.
Earlier, Secretary of Muslim Girls Orphanage Abdul Azeez Chand welcomed. Hafiz Mohamed Umar Farooq and Hafiz Rizwan Shariff presented Naath-e-Shariff.

Secretary of Muslim Girls Orphanage Hazarath Abdul Azeez Chand, Secretary of Muslim Boys Orphanage Anwar Pasha, Urdu journalist Afsar Pasha, Digital Media Association President Safdar Khaisar, Mudasir Pasha, Afsar Mysorie, Saniya, Hameed and DCC Minority Department Spokesperson Mirza Jamsheed Baig Ashrafi.
Chairman of Al Khalid Educational and Charitable Trust Mohammed Mumtaz Ahmed, President of Nimra Masjid Khadeer Ahmed, Central Meelad Committee Secretary Moyeenuddin Pasha, Joint Secretary Mayraj Habeeb, President of Salam Welfare Association Abdul Salam and others were present.
