Mysuru: “Today’s education system is in the clutches of westernisation and commercialisation. At such a juncture, building a strong vision, compassion and national concern among students is pivotal,”  opined Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker.

Addressing the students at 12th Graduation Day of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus on Nov. 27, he called upon the youths not to limit education to text books in order to shape their personality to the societal requirement.

Emphasising on the challenges ahead, Kageri asked the graduates to prepare themselves for the much-needed grit, self-discipline and will power.

Kageri advised students to be self-disciplined in life. ‘Do not to wait for any Government to implement rules and regulations. As a responsible citizen it is everyone’s duty to be disciplined in life,’ he said adding that, ‘nation first’ should be the mantra of all Indians.
