House burglar arrested: Rs. 2 lakh worth gold ornaments recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: Kuvempunagar Police have arrested a house burglar and have recovered 40 grams gold ornaments worth Rs. 2 lakh from him.

The accused is 51-year-old Manja alias Manjunath of Halasinahalli in Hassan. He had burgled the house of one Kushalappa in Vasu Layout on Dec. 9, 2022 and Kuvempunagar Police, who had registered a case in this regard, arrested the accused on Jan. 1, 2023 at Bhavya Bharatnagar in Srirampura.

The accused had two cases registered in Kuvempunagar Police Station and six cases in Arasikere and Chikkamagalur Police Stations. He had also served five years jail term.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna and KR Sub-Division ACP S.E. Gangadharaswamy guided Kuvempunagar Inspector L. Arun, Sub-Inspector Gopal and staff Hazarath, Suresh, M.P. Manjunath, N.K. Puttappa and Chikkabasavegowda in the nabbing and recovery operation.
