Will give oxygen to people hit by BJP’s rule: Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa

May 31, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: Social Welfare Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa has alleged that ‘BJP is out to put the blame on Congress Government just to hide its failures.’

Dr. Mahadevappa spoke to media persons after offering floral tributes to the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Town Hall premises here yesterday, for the first time after becoming the Minister.

“BJP has been making false allegations against Congress to avoid people’s outburst against them.  The BJP had to face people’s ire due to large scale corruption and hence they are eager to cast aspersions on Congress that has won with people’s blessings, thus raking up the guarantees promised by the party. Both BJP and Janata Dal (Secular) lack morality to issue deadline to implement the guarantees. As an Opposition party, they can question in the democratic system, but have been making statements in a hurry, forgetting how people have blackened their face with ash,” he said in a mocking tone.

The Government is yet to take off, but the rival parties are issuing deadlines. Their failure in administration and unabated corruption was a hurdle for development. How will the people vote, when there is no development to claim. Hence they were defeated and now have been speaking out of despair, said Dr. Mahadevappa.

“We had offered solutions to get rid of crisis-ridden life if we came to power, along with five guarantees. The first priority is to create a conducive atmosphere for the people in crises to eke out a living. While BJP had created a situation that ‘Life is possible only with oxygen support,’” he added.

BJP lacked leadership in the State and that was why the votes were sought in the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Wherever they went, Congress candidates have won by a margin of 25,000 to 30,000 votes, said Dr. Mahadevappa attributing it to the anti-incumbency against BJP Government and PM Modi’s silence towards the complaint of 40 percent Commission.

BJP leaders had earlier promised to deposit Rs. 15 lakh in the account of every citizens of the country. Former MLA C.T. Ravi had even denied of making any such promise. This shows their double-standard, but they have to tell the people of the country that they won’t give Rs. 15 lakh, said Dr. Mahadevappa who reminded the BJP leaders to look into the paper clippings on the promise made to bring back the black money stashed abroad.

BJP had distorted history during the revision of textbooks and we had opposed it as Opposition party. We will correct what has been distorted, said Dr. Mahadevappa.

“Our aim is to win all the 28 Lok Sabha seats in the State in the coming Lok Sabha elections” the Minister added.

Tributes to various personalities

Minister Dr. H. C. Mahadevappa also offered floral tributes to the statues of 12th century social reformer Basavanna at Gun House Circle, Bhagwan Buddha at Buddha Vihar near Ballal Circle,  erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar at K.R. Circle and the statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram in front of Railway Station, followed by a visit to Suttur Mutt at the foot of Chamundi Hill to seek the blessings of Suttur Seer Sri  Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.
