Gundlupet MLA’s initiative worthy of emulation

June 1, 2023

Sir,

It is good to see the Gundlupet MLA Ganesh Prasad, by placing a notice board in front of his Mysuru house, saying no to garlands, bouquets, gifts etc., from the public (SOM dated May 31).

The practice, so prevalent with all politicians irrespective of party affiliation, is obscene to say the least. The culture of putting up huge cut-outs by all and sundry which is an eyesore and threatens the safety of road users should also be discouraged.

Unfortunately, the city administration always turned a blind eye to this evil practice.

It would be wonderful if the other MLAs from the District too could follow the initiative made by Ganesh Prasad. Indeed worthy of emulation. The District  could then be an example for the entire State.

In addition to other promises, will the new Government also adopt minimum show off and maximum governance?
