Bengaluru: Senior IPS Officer Hemanth Nimbalkar on Wednesday took charge as the new Commissioner of the Department of Information and Public Relations. The State Government had recently issued an order in this regard.

Nimbalkar, who was on leave for higher studies abroad from Jan. 13, 2022, was, however, called back and the post of Commissioner has been upgraded equivalent to the post of IGP (Southern Range), Mysuru.

Nimbalkar, a 1998 batch IPS Officer, has previously served in various key positions in the Police Department.
