Delay in arrival and departure of trains: Will Railways rectify?

June 22, 2023

Sir,

Of late, the arrival and departure of various trains at Mysuru and its suburban stations are very erratic.  Besides the long  halts of the so-called Super Fast Mysuru-Mayiladuthurai Express at a couple of unscheduled stations between Mysuru and KSR, the Tumakuru-Chamarajanagar passenger (07346) too faces twin crossings (06234 & 06275), either at Ashokapuram or Kadakola each day that cause abnormal delay.

On June 19, this train (07346) was impounded for almost 50 minutes at the Ashokapuram Station — reasons unknown.  In such cases, should not the station staff make an announcement for the passengers?  Don’t the commuters have a right to know the reason? On behalf of thousands of train travellers, I appeal to the station-in-charge officers concerned to announce the delay with reason and the Railways to rectify the problem.

Of late the timeliness of railway is declining. It has become a regular feature for Chamundi Express to depart late in the evening. On 22nd June the train left Bengaluru Station at 7:05 pm, late by 50 minutes. Most of the times the reason for delay is the late arrival of the previous Mysore bound train – Vishwamanava Express – which is scheduled to depart for Mysore at 5.45 pm. This causes delay for Chamundi Express. On 22nd, Vishwamanava Express didn’t arrive even until 7 pm and all the Mysore bound passengers boarded Chamundi Express thus resulting in over-crowding. To add to the misery, Chamundi Express too arrived late at Bengaluru station platform and by then huge crowd had already gathered on the platform which caused further inconvenience as so many people boarded the train at one go.

    Hey Vijay
Are you, the poster thug who commented with a one liner wicked and ignorant reply to my response to @Vikram’s poor quality discussion on the Conversion Bill that the new Congress government is abolishing?
What is the purpose of this post, narrating the woes of the trains arriving nokarnataks who in a large category oft on time? The fact is you should be happy at all with the arrival of these trains. People like your calibre deserve no better than crowded trains.
My impression of you, has been that you being a typical resident of Mysore/Karnataka, with a very small brain size, fail to grasp the fact that you are a third rate citizens in these days, poorly educated and massively ignorant, and fail to understand that you breed like sewage rats, which means that there are more you demanding services than the aervices can cope.
If you have guts and drive, complain to the Railway authorities. You have neither, and hence shut up.
