Graft charges: PHC Health Officer suspended

Mysore/Mysuru: A Health Officer, serving in a city PHC (Primary Health Centre), has been suspended on graft charges.

Dr. K.P. Komala, who was serving as the Health Officer at Shantinagar PHC in the city, is the one who has been suspended, after a video in which she was seen accepting money as bribe from patients visiting the Shantinagar PHC for treatment and issuance of free medicines, went viral on the social media recently.

As the video went viral, the then DHO Dr. K.H. Prasad had carried out an enquiry and submitted a report to the Health and Family Welfare Department on June 28. Based on the report, the Department Commissioner D. Randeep  suspended Dr. Komala, pending Departmental enquiry.
