‘Kalabhivardhana 2024’: Three-day 20th annual celebrations of Kalasandesha Pratishtana from tomorrow

Conferring of ‘Veena Vaggeya Vibhushana’ award on Veena Maestro Dr. R. Visweswaran

Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Kalabhivardhana 2024,’ 20th annual celebrations of Kalasandesha Pratishtana will be held at Ganabharathi’s Smt. Ramabai Govindarao Rangamandira on Adichunchanagiri Road in Kuvempunagar here from Jan. 12 to 14.

Jan. 12 — 5.30 pm to 7 pm: Conferring of ‘Veena Vaggeya Vibhushana’ award on renowned Veena Maestro Dr. R. Visweswaran.

Music Scholar and Sangeet Natak Akademi (New Delhi) Member Dr. Nagamani Srinath will inaugurate the three-day celebrations. Karnatak Music Scholars Vidwan Dr. R.S. Nandakumar & Vidushi Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar, Violin Scholars Vidwan H.K. Narasimhamurthy & Vidwan A.P. Srinivas, Mridanga Scholars Vid. Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma, Vid. H.L. Shivashankar Swamy and Vid. G.S. Ramanujam, Bharatanatyam Scholars Vidushi Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra, Vidushi Dr. Sheela Shridhar, Vidwan R. Kannan, Vidwan Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao, Vidushi Dr. Kripa Phadke and Vidushi Dr. Radhika Nandakumar, Musicologists, Art Critics & Writers Vidu. Rohini Subbaratnam, Vidushi Dr. Jyothi Shankar and Vidu. Dr. Rama V. Bennur and Veena Scholar Vid. R.K. Padmanabha will be the guests. Danseuse Vidushi Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy will preside.

7 pm: Veena Concert by ‘Veena Vaggeya Vibhushana’ Dr. R. Visweswaran accompanied by Vidwan Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma on mridanga.

Jan. 13 — 6 pm: ‘Bharatanatya: Bhagavata Marga’ by K. Sandesh Bhargav, noted Bharatanatyam artiste and Vice-President, Global Solution & Transformation Li & Fung. Concept – Vidu. Jyothi Shankar; Choreography and Natuvanga – Vidushi Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy; Music Composer and Vocal – Vidu. Kanchana S. Sriranjani; Mridanga – Vid. H.L. Shivashankar Swamy; Veena – Vid. Gopal Venkataramana; Flute – Vid. Nithish Ammannaya; Rhythm Pad – Vid. H.L. Ananthakrishna Swamy.

Jan. 14 — 6 pm: Bharatanatyam dance feature ‘Tridevi’ by Guru Vidushi Asha Adiga Acharya, noted Bharatanatyam artiste, Chicago, USA and Adithi Acharya, Bharatanatyam artiste and daughter & disciple of Asha Adiga. Natuvanga – Vid. T.S. Sharath, Vocal – Vidu. Vasudha Balakrishna, Mridanga – Vid. S.V. Balakrishna, Veena – Vid. Gopal Venkataramana, Flute – Vid. Nithish Ammannaya and Rhythm Pad – Vid. G.
