Mysuru: Artist couple Raghotham Putty and Lalitha R. Putty are well-known among the artist fraternity throughout the State and country. Every year, their family members organise an event in memory of the couple. This year, the family members have organised a three-day painting and photography exhibition of Manasa Putty, granddaughter of the artist couple and M.C. Arun, her husband.
The exhibition will be held at Suchitra Art Gallery in Kalamandira from Aug. 12 to 14. It will be inaugurated by Padma Shri Dr. J.A.K. Tareen, former Vice-Chancellor, Kashmir, Puducherry and B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Universities on Aug. 12 at 4 pm at a function to be held at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises. The expo will be open from 10 am to 7.30 pm on Aug. 13 and 14.
The function will be presided by Madhuri Thathachari, Managing Trustee, Bhramara Trust, Mysuru. H. Chennappa, Assistant Director, Department of Kannada and Culture, will be present.
Manasa Putty is currently working as an art teacher at Sharada Ganapathi Vidya Kendra at Mudipu in Mangaluru and M.C. Arun is a software engineer with a private firm. Having married a couple years back, both Manasa and Arun have been travelling across the country to capture the picturesque view on canvas as well as in camera. This is their first exhibition together as a couple.
