Rotary Youth Leadership Award held in Mysuru

Mysore/Mysuru: A two-day Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) was conducted by Rotary Mysore Midtown on Mar.9 and 10 at Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri Campus here.

The event unfolded with various learning sessions like Cardio-Pulmonary resuscitation                            wherein an intensivist Dr. Raghunath Aladakatti held a workshop. The participants had hands-on experience on manikin. He also gave in-depth importance of automated external defibrillator (AED).

Jagadish Adappa from Chennai enlightened the participants about fire safety and high-                      lighted how to douse various types of fire. 

Deepak Vohra, IFS, former Ambassador, enthralled the youths with his mind-boggling speech about India today and yesteryears.

Dr. Usha Yanamandra from Hyderabad gave a talk on Social Intelligence and Youth Diplomacy. She emphasised on the role of social media in the lives of youths.

Chetan Ram gave a talk on Leadership Development and role of youth in the education and development of the nation. 

Bhanuchandran, a Strategist and Financial Consultant, gave a talk on the financial management for youth with inputs on savings, investment and capital growth.

The evening witnessed a cultural extragavanza with DJ Night and the morning was renewed by Preethi Padaki taking the Zumba Session.

The Motivation session by Vinay Kanchan from Mumbai stirred the minds of youths to overcome the obstacles and pursue their dreams.

The grand show was captivated by Ganesh Kudroli who left the crowd speechless by his witty tricks and just kept the whole crowd in illusion.

About 220 RYLARIANs from Mysuru, Mangaluru, Puttur and a few from Kenya, South Africa and Bangaladesh participated.

Earlier the programme was inaugurated by DG Rtn. Keshav of RI Dist 3181 and culminated with a Pep talk by DGE Rtn. Ramakrishna of RI Dist 3181.

The Ryla meet was coordinated by Mohan Gurumurthy, Srinivasan and Satyendra of Rotary Mysore Midtown.
