Nanjangud: Hullahalli Police have arrested two youths on the charges of assaulting a Police Constable during a jatra at Hadya Village in the taluk on Tuesday night.

Those arrested are Santosh and Anand and the Constable is M. Kumar of Hullahalli Police Station. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.

On Tuesday, a jatra was organised at Hadya and Constable Kumar and others were deputed for bandobust. In the evening, a fight broke out between two groups over petty reasons and Kumar, who interfered, had  to face the wrath of accused.

Other Police personnel, who were at the spot, intervened and brought the situation under control. Constable Kumar was rushed to Hullahalli Government Hospital, where he was treated.

Hullahalli Police have registered a case.
