Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Bharatiya Bhasha Parivar,’ a portal that provides complete information on different languages of the country and mutual development of languages, was released at a Conference on ‘Bharatiya Languages and India as One Linguistic Area,’ organised at the CIIL (Central Institute of Indian Languages) on Hunsur Road here yesterday.
Speaking after launching the portal (https://parivar.ciil.org/), CIIL Director Prof. Shailendra Mohan said that the portal contains information on 22 Indian languages which have Constitutional status. The portal also has explanation of languages along with their culture, lineage, sociolinguistic and ancient background, he added.
Prof. Pramod Pande spoke on the topic ‘India as One Linguistic Area: Sociolinguistic and Linguistic Issues,’ while Prof. Chandra Bhushan Sharma, spoke on the topic ‘India – A cultural region,’ Prof. Mohammad Jahangeer Warsi and Prof. Gyaneshwer Chaubey spoke on the diversity of Indian Languages.
