KSOU VC at Margadarshi-25 interaction

Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Sharanappa V. Halse has directed the staff to quickly respond to the grievances of students and address their problems at the earliest.

He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Margadarshi-25’ programme organised at KSOU Learners Support Centre, at Mukthagangothri on Thursday.

“When students apply for admissions, marks card and original certificates or call the officials to get some information, they should properly guide the students about the procedures to be followed,” said Prof. Halse.

“The Learners Support Centre has been specifically created and provided with necessary staff for the benefit of students. Staff must make use of the facilities and reduce the number of students’ problems to zero. The main intention of establishing the Centre is to avoid students coming to Mysuru  seeking solutions to their minor problems,” said KSOU VC.

Prof. Halse concluded by saying that all the employees of KSOU must discharge their duties responsibly without giving scope for any complaints and thereby ensure good Distance Education to students all over the State.

Registrar Prof. K.B. Praveena said that working in Learners Support Centre is all about interacting and communicating. The staff of the Centre must be pro-active. They should receive every call that is made to the Centre and in case the call gets disconnected in the middle, the staff should call back the number and give the needed information.

Dean of Study Centres Prof. M. Ramanatham Naidu, Registrar (Examinations) Satish, Centre Co-ordinator Dr. Sudhakara Hosalli, senior journalist Amshi Prasannakumar, Co-ordinator of KSOU Competitive Examinations Training Centre Jainahalli Satyanarayana Gowda, MBA Division’s Prof. Mahadevaswamy and others were present at the programme.
