Mysore/Mysuru: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr. P. Shivaraju has said that the 78th Independence Day celebrations is being organised on Aug. 15 at Torch Light Parade Grounds in Bannimantap here.

District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa will hoist the National Flag at 9 am. All the District-level officers/ staff, including Board, Corporation and Autonomous organisations, must hoist the Tricolour before 8 am at the respective offices/ schools and colleges and participate at the main event without fail.

A temporary office of District-level National Festivals Chairman is being opened at the entrance of the venue and the officials/ employees attending the function must compulsorily sign in the attendance register kept there. Every district-level officer must ensure that his subordinates compulsorily attend the I-Day function without fail.

Action will be taken against officials/staff who fail to attend the function, says a press release issued by the ADC.
