Mysuru: Devaraja Police have arrested a youth on charges of stealing mobile phones from shops and recovered nine cell phones worth about Rs. 1.67 lakh from him.

The arrested has been identified Syed Junaid, 25, a resident of Kalyangiri in city who has been remanded to Judicial custody.

It is learnt that Junaid, who used to steal mobile phones by diverting the attention of shop owners and attendants, was arrested in March for the same crime and was jailed.

After coming out of jail, Junaid is said to have continued  his old habit and was caught again.

Devaraja Police have registered a case in this regard.
