KSPCB provides three mobile tanks for Ganesha idol immersion

Mysuru: The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), in a bid to save the water bodies from being polluted and to facilitate immersion of Ganesha idols, has provided three mobile immersion tanks which will be stationed at various locations in city tomorrow.

Vehicle 1: Near Metagalli Police Station from 4 pm to 5.15 pm; Near K.D. Circle in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage from 5.30 pm to 6.45 pm; Near Mathru Mandali Circle in Vontikoppal from 7 pm to 8.15 pm; Near Kukkarahalli Lake main entrance from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm. Vehicle 2: Near Vikram Hospital in Yadavagiri from 4 pm to 5.15 pm; Near Shanthala Theatre from 5.30 pm to 6.45 pm; Near Chamundipuram Circle from 7 pm to 8.15 pm; Near Karanji Lake main entrance from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm. The public can contact Shivanna on Mob: 99004-79002.

Vehicle 3: Near Jayamma Govindegowda Kalyana Mantap in Kuvempunagar from 4 pm to 5.15 pm; Near Jayanagar Railway Gate from 5.30 pm to 6.45 pm; Near Gobbali Mara in J.P. Nagar from 7 pm to 8.15 pm; Near Lingambudi Lake main entrance from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm. The public can contact H.C. Lakshman on  Mob: 98453-07419.

KSPCB has directed organisations which have erected pandals for Ganesha Festival not to use plastic, not to burst crackers, not to use loud speakers, which are banned from 10 pm to 6 am.

The Pollution Control Board has asked the people not to immerse Ganesha idols in any water bodies but to immerse in the mobile water tanks provided by it.

Use only authorised temporary power connection for illumination: Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has, in a press release, asked people who organise functions for Ganesha Festival to draw a separate temporary authorised power connection for illumination purpose with proper safety norms. It has warned of power disconnection for unauthorised temporary connections and the CESC will not be responsible for any mishaps resulting from illegal connections.
