Mysuru: Rangayana Mysuru has conceptualised a new programme ‘Maatina Mane’, where the seasoned artistes who have carved a niche career on their own in theatre, will be sharing their views before the gathering.

Director of Rangayana Mysuru Satish Tiptur told media persons yesterday that the programme will be organised on the fourth Saturday of every month beginning tomorrow (Oct. 26) at 10.30 am at Bhoomigeetha auditorium, at the premises of the repertory.

Noted playwright Kotiganahalli Ramaiah will inaugurate the programme and professional theatre artiste Saraswati (Juleja Begum) will be the first artiste to share her thoughts in her interaction with writer Abdul Rasheed.

Joint Director of Kannada and Culture Department V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy and Assistant Director  Dr. M.D. Sudarshan will be present.

Rural areas: Sharing other plans in the offing to take the repertory to other sections of the society, Satish said, it has been decided to stage plays in the rural areas too, by conducting camps at Taluk-levels.

Despite not having adequate basic infrastructural facilities, we will be conducting the experiments making use of available resources. The children, teachers and senior theatre artistes will be imparted training. The senior artistes will be showcasing their talent in Bahuroopi National Theatre Festival too.

Children’s theatre: Besides, we are planning to experiment with children’s theatre exclusively, keeping in mind the challenges and possibilities. Arrangements will be made to enable the children of all schools to watch the play, said Satish.

Preparations are being made for the 100th show of ‘Checkmate’ enacted by senior artistes of Rangayana, next week.
