People have more faith in officials than netas: Chamarajanagar DC

November 27, 2024

Mysuru: Chamarajanagar Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Nag observed that, the people have more confidence in officials than politicians.

She was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the training camp for competitive exams organised by KSOU Competitive Examination Coaching Centre in the city yesterday.

DC Shilpa Nag said, “the people have a feeling of respect towards officials and hence we should discharge our duties honestly to gain their confidence. However, on the flip side, the people do speak about the privileges the officials enjoy for they travel in Air Conditioned (AC) cars and have built a house of their own. But they are not aware about the stressful working condition faced by the officials.”

“I have been dealing with tremendous pressure in Chamarajanagar district, where I am currently posted as DC. People from various nook and corner of the district come to visit me. Though I refer them to Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), they prefer to ignore the advise and insist on meeting me, due to the level of faith they have in me. Hence, we should work towards retaining their faith and respect,” said DC Shilpa Nag.

“The general tendency among the people is to criticise all the matters, when they are outside the system. It is natural to blame the local body at the sight of garbage littered on the road. We also vent anguish against the Government for the unkempt road. But, when we are within the system, we should not forget our responsibilities and try to find solutions towards redressing the grievances, taking a cue from our own experience, said Shilpa Nag.
