Seminar on ‘Impact of Constitution upon Ordinary Laws in India’ held

Mysuru: Vidya Vikas Institute of Legal Studies (VILS), Mysuru, had organised a National Seminar on “The Impact of Constitution upon Ordinary Laws in India” on account of 75th Constitution Day celebrations recently.

V. Sudhir Pai, Senior Advocate of Karnataka High Court, who inaugurated the event by watering the plant, enlightened the gathering with regard to the cardinal principles, objectives and aspirations of the Constitution. He also explained about the judicial role in safeguarding the Constitutional mandate with decided cases.

In his keynote address, Prof. P. Ishwara Bhat, Legal Education Advisor & former Vice- Chancellor of Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) &  National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJAS), highlighted how the Constitutional provisions impact upon ordinary laws like Law of Taxation, Labour legislations and safeguard the interest of people.

V. Kaveesh Gowda, Secretary of Vidya Vikas Educational Trust, who presided, explained about the social and economical justice, equality principles and that people have every right to raise their voice with regard to these rights before their representatives.

Distinguished guests distributed prizes to the winners of quiz competition held on the occasion.

Dr. S. Nataraju, Director of VVILS welcomed.  Dr. M.N. Sanjith, Principal of VVILS, proposed the vote of thanks. Eminent Scholars from different parts of India and abroad participated online and presented their views and thoughts related to the Constitutional impact upon different legislations. Many students also presented their research papers.
