Mysuru: In a concerted effort to curb the spread of rabies and promote responsible pet care, People For Animals (PFA) Mysore, in collaboration with Alcavio Technologies Ltd., organised a free anti-rabies vaccination camp across several localities in and around Mysuru on Friday.
The initiative focused on vaccinating stray and community dogs while also spreading awareness on responsible pet ownership and the importance of Animal Birth Control (ABC) surgeries. A total of 159 dogs were vaccinated during the drive, which covered Beerihundi, Gopalpura, Hullahalli, Daripura, Jayapura, Annahalli, Salhundi, Udbur, Dodpura, Jettihundi, K.M. Halli and Anaganahalli.
The medical team, led by Dr. Amardeep Singh and supported by para-veterinarians Ratan and Gopal, ensured safe and efficient administration of the vaccines. Dog-catching duties were handled by Manoj and Lalsingh, with logistics supported by Driver Shivkumar and Manager Anil.
In addition to vaccinations, the team conducted an awareness campaign educating the public on the significance of regular anti-rabies shots and humane methods to manage the stray dog population through ABC procedures. The initiative marks another step towards building a rabies-free and compassionate community, reinforcing the ongoing commitment to animal welfare.
