3rd PG Graduation Day held at VVCE

April 28, 2025

Mysuru: “Degree is within the framework, but when we want to solve a problem, we need to go beyond it,” said Venkappayya R. Desai, Director, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Dharwad.

Delivering the address during the third Post-Graduate Graduation Day of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) at its Sahukar Chennaiah Auditorium here recently, Desai emphasised the importance of applying academic knowledge to solve real-world problems such as pollution, waste management, and sustainability challenges.

“A degree provides a foundation, but true impact comes from thinking beyond the classroom — thinking cost-effective, scalable and sustainable,” he said.

He urged the graduates to merge traditional wisdom with modern innovation to build solutions for a better future.

P. Vishwanath, Secretary of Vidyavardhaka Sangha, spoke about the institution’s vision of becoming a University of international repute. “India is rapidly emerging as a startup nation. We encourage our students to become job creators, not just job seekers,” he remarked.

VVCE Principal Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda, said, “With the country aiming to become a $10 trillion economy by 2030, the need for continuous learning and adaptability has never been                                 more critical.”

He added that innovation, digital infrastructure and entrepreneurial spirit would be the key drivers of India’s transformation.
