Selected for ‘Akka’ Award

City-based writer Dr. Geetha Seetharam has been selected for the prestigious ‘Akka’ Award (2023-24) for her book titled ‘Ahalyabai Holkar.’ The award is given by Hubballi’s Gangamma Somappa Bommai Trust, headed by MP and former CM Basavaraj Bommai. Navya R. Katti has bagged the ‘Aralu Moggu’ Award for her work ‘Maya Guhe Mattu Itara Makkala Kathegalu’ in the Under-18 young writer category while Shariff Makappanavar has bagged the ‘Janapada Siri’ Award for his book ‘Janapada Kalaavidaru Sudharisikollabahudada Margopaayagalu.’  Each award carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and a citation.
