Nanjangud: The 78th birth anniversary of former MP late V. Sreenivasa Prasad will be celebrated on Aug. 6 in Nanjangud.

Disclosing this during the preliminary meeting held in this regard at the Tourist Bungalow here recently, former MLA B. Harshavardhan said that a function has been organised by the followers of late V. Sreenivasa Prasad at JSS Mangala Mantapa in which Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, former Ministers B. Sriramulu and PGR Sindhia, RSS leader M. Venkataram, Prof. Kalegowda Nagavara and Bhagyalakshmi Sreenivasa Prasad will participate.

Pointing out that Sreenivasa Prasad had served for over five decades in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar thus remaining in the minds of the people, Harshavardhan said that the late MP’s followers have organised various social activities across the taluk in his memory. Stating that various social activities will be held at the tribal hamlet near Hediyala, Harshavardhan called upon everyone to participate keeping aside their differences.

Chikkaranganayaka, BJP Rural Mandal President Kendagannappa, City President Siddaraju, City Municipal Council (CMC) Members Mahadeva Prasad and Deva, former Taluk Panchayat Members Ramu and Shivanna, former Hura Gram Panchayat President Chandru, former BJP President Mahesh, leaders Somanna, Parashivamurthy, Puttaswamy, Mahadev, Raju, Mahadevaswamy, Mahesh Babu, Abdul Razak, former PLD Bank Vice-President Krishna and DSS Mysuru Division Convenor Manju were present.
