Mysore/Mysuru: As part of Dasara festival, the Kannada Book Authority (KBA), in association with Kannada & Culture Department and Mysuru Dasara Festival Committee, will be organising Dasara Kannada Book Mela (display and sale of books) at Scouts and Guides Ground near the Old DC’s office along Hunsur Road in city, from Sept. 22 to Oct.1.
The KBA has invited Kannada Book publishers/ sellers/ distributors to set up stalls in the 10-day Book Mela, by remitting a Security deposit of Rs.1,000 in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Administrative Officer, Kannada Book Authority, Bengaluru.

Book release at Book Mela
Many literary activities including cultural programmes and seminars will be organised every day at the Book Mela venue. Also, new books can be released on the occasion.
If authors and publishers of the State want to release their new books, they may register by filling the prescribed form and submitting it, along with two copies of the book they want to release.
These books should not have any controversial aspects. If there are any legal complications regarding the book, the authors and publishers are responsible for it. The authority has the full power to select or reject books for release. No books will be accepted for release after Sept. 16.
No remuneration, travel expenses or other facilities will be provided to the authors/ publishers who come for the book release.
The books accepted for release will be divided into nine days of the Book Mela according to the number and the details of which authors’ books will be released on which day will be informed to the respective authors/ publishers.
