Partial zero-traffic zone rule around Mysore Palace to encourage walking

Mysore/Mysuru: The globally renowned Mysuru Dasara festival is set to enthral visitors with a spectacular drone show, one of its biggest highlights this year.

The dazzling display will run for four days, adding a futuristic flair, beginning Sept. 28, and promises to be grander and more breathtaking than previous editions. The Bannimantap Torchlight Parade Grounds will host drone shows on Sept. 28, 29, Oct. 1 and 2.

While last year, the show featured 1,500 drones, this year the number has doubled to 3,000, offering an unparalleled visual treat in the night sky.

Adding to the excitement, an Indian Air Force Air Show will take place at the same venue on Sept. 27 and Oct. 1, further boosting the festival’s attraction for both residents and tourists.

As always, the Mysore Palace, the focal point of Dasara celebrations, will be illuminated with thousands of dazzling lights. To enhance the visitor experience and ensure smooth pedestrian movement, a partial zero-traffic zone will be implemented around the Palace. Much like at international festivals, visitors will be encouraged to explore the surroundings on foot, soaking in the magnificent views of the illuminated heritage landmark.
