Mysuru: The rathotsava of Goddess Chamundeshwari will be held atop Chamundi Hill on Oct. 6 followed by Theppotsava on Oct. 8. According to the tradition both rathotsava and theppotsava will be held post Jumboo Savari in a prescribed muhurtham.

Preparations are underway atop Chamundi Hill with works on the main chariot nearing completion. The rathotsava will be held on Oct. 6 between 9.36 am and 9.58 am.

Mysore Royal Family Member Pramoda Devi Wadiyar will inaugurate  rathotsava in front of the temple. Titular head of Mysore Royal Family and MP Yaduveer Wadiyar and his wife Trishikha Kumari Wadiyar will also take part.

Theppotsava will be held Oct. 8 at the Devikere atop the Hill at 6 pm in which the members of Mysore Royal Family will take part. With the completion of theppotsava, Dasara related rituals will also draw to a close.
