Mysuru, Oct. 26- Writer and Founder-President of Karnataka Muktaka Sahitya Academy, S. Ramprasad, has been selected for ‘Sangeetha Seva Nidhi’ award instituted by JSS Sangeetha Sabha Trust, Mysuru, of JSS Mahavidyapeetha.

According to a press release from Sabha Secretary T.P. Prabhuswamy and Trustee Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao, Ramprasad has been selected for the award, to be conferred during the 30th Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji Memorial Music Conference, scheduled to be held from Dec. 2 to 6 at JSS Women’s College auditorium, Saraswathipuram in the city. Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will be presenting the award.

Ramprasad, who has over 50 literary works to his credit, besides being a amateur wildlife photographer, is the recipient of various awards. He was associated with Ganabharathi, Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, JSS Sangeetha Sabha, N.R. Mohalla Sangeetha Sabha, Surabhi Ganakala Mandira, Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre, Sri Krishna Ganasabha, Bidaram Krishnappa’s Sri Prasanna Seetharama Mandira, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) and several other institutions, functioning for the cause of promoting culture in the city.
