Mysore/Mysuru: K.B. Lingaraju, President of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), has welcomed the decision of Central Silk Board (CSB) to establish the country’s first Silk Museum in city.
In a press release, Lingaraju stated that it was indeed a matter of great happiness that the Central Government has given its accord for setting up India’s first Silk Museum in Mysuru city.
“It will prove a significant contribution to the tourism industry that will provide a platform to reach out more with the indigenous handicrafts, sculpture, culture and heritage,” he said.
“The Silk Museum shall come in handy in providing information related to distinct methods followed in the production of silk, with a suitable guidance to young farmers,” he said adding that “The pride of Mysuru may get a fillip as the city is visited by burgeoning number of tourists, students and researchers to name a few, among several other fields.”
Its addition to the list of tourist attractions shall spur economical growth too, added Lingaraju.
