White House replica to attract Dasara Exhibition visitors

Mysuru: For those who have not visited the White House, the official residence of the President of United States of America, here is a chance to catch a glimpse of the iconic structure.

This year, the Dasara Exhibition, which opens on Sept. 21, will feature the replica of White House located in Washington DC, USA, as its main attraction. The Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) has allocated 2 acres of land for the purpose. The tender for this year’s Dasara Exhibition has been awarded Fun World and Resorts for Rs. 6.66 crore.

The works on White House replica has already begun and is expected to be completed by Sept. 21. The White House will be constructed on a site measuring 150×250 sqft. Earlier, it was mentioned that the replica of Disneyland would be the main attraction but later the tender holder decided to construct the White House replica.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep conducted an inspection of ongoing works at the Dasara Exhibition Grounds this morning. On seeing works on the many of the Government Departments, Boards and Corporations not having started, the DC instructed the officials to make sure the work were completed by Sept. 19.

He also said that those who complete the works by Sept. 21 would be awarded 25 bonus points which will add up to the final points while announcing the awards for the best stalls. Randeep also said that those government agencies that fail to complete the works within the deadline would not be given additional time and a chance to participate in the exhibition.

For a total of 37 stalls which were to be constructed, works on only 28 have begun. Karnataka Exhibition Authority CEO N.M. Shashikumar, KEA Chairman B. Siddaraju, Tourism Deputy Director Janardhan and others were present.
