City records 2,467 crime cases in 2025

Mysore/Mysuru: As many as 2,467 criminal cases — including robbery, extortion, murder, rape, missing persons and consumption and sale of narcotic substances — were registered in the city last year.

From Jan. 1, 2025 to Dec. 29, a total of 2,467 FIRs related to both petty and serious offences were registered across all Police Stations in the city, excluding the Women’s Police Station. In addition, more than 1,000 road accident cases were reported at the city’s five Traffic Police Stations during the same period.

Of the total cases, four Police Stations under Mysuru taluk alone accounted for 1,125 cases, highlighting the concentration of crime in these areas. Data for the last two days of 2025 is yet to be compiled.
